Special Announcement!

My name is Joshua Kaufmann. I am a Boy Scout in Troop 781, located in Plymouth, MI and currently working on my Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project to attain the rank of Eagle.

For my project, I am collecting clean/non-offensive music CD’s that will be donated to Operation: Quiet Comfort (OQC).  OQC is a non-profit group that sends their “Go-Bag” care packages to our wounded soldier in hospitals in Iraq, Afghanistan and around the world.

Often our injured men and women heroes arrive for medical care without their belongings and it can take weeks before those belongings catch up with them. Sometimes, they don't arrive at all. Even when injured, our troops need items like hygiene and grooming products, clothing, entertainment and support from the home front.  They need ways to cope with their circumstances.  This is where the CD’s come in.

Would you please consider donating either new or used music CD’s as a way to thank our injured heroes in their recovery? Would you also tell your friends, family and neighbors to donate?  I have included flyers in the envelope for this purpose.

Below are a few ways you can help:

  1. Bring your new/used CD’s to any of the locations listed near the bottom of the page during the collection period. If it would be more convinient or if you are out of stateand would like to donate, please mail your donation to the address I give at the bottom for donating money.
  2. Donate funds for us to buy new CD’s that follow our guidelines and that will help OQC to ship them to our soldiers. Donation info
  3. Print out the flyers in the download section on the right side of the page and give them out to friends, family, and neighbors.

Suggested genres/styles:

  1. Country
  2. Patriotic
  3. Classic Rock (clean)
  4. Contemporary Christian
  5. Pop (clean)
  6. Other good clean upbeat music.

Note:

  1. Used CD’s must not contain profanity or vulgarity of any kind.  They must also be in good working condition with virtually no signs wear. They do not need to be in the original packaging; however, they need a case of some sort when they are donated.
  2. We will not accept bootleg or illegal copies of CD’s.
